In just one week 205 students and a dozen faculty will gather at La Roche College in Pittsburgh for “summer camp for genealogists.” And just like summer camp we will have a great time diving deep into our chosen topic of study and enjoying the experience with those of a like mind.
Registration is Sunday, July 20, from 3 to 5 pm in Bold I Hall (Dorm on the map at http://www.gripitt.org/?page_id=2). Please see email sent Monday morning, July 14, for details on other arrival times and Sunday schedule. Those arriving Monday: Look for the signs to point you to registration in the classroom building.
We welcome the 28% of students who have never been to any institute, the 30% who have experienced another institute and the 42% returning GRIP students. You all hail from 40 different states and three different countries (Canada, Israel, and New Zealand)!
Even so, 64% are driving, 32% are flying, and 4% are taking a train, bus, etc.
We hear that many of you are making this a road trip combined with visiting family, repositories, or ancestors’ gravesites. We hope that all such visits are successful!
