SCHEDULE to Help Your Travel Plans

You may pick up your course materials on the Sunday of your course week from 3 pm to 5 pm. If you are staying on-campus, you will also receive your room keys.

Dinner is in the cafeteria from 5 pm to 6 pm and is open to all students. At 6 pm we will have a short welcome program, faculty introductions, and door prizes (must be present to win). At the end of the meeting any late-comers may pick up their course materials.

Sunday evening is available for getting to know the campus, old and new friends, or settle into your room. Some weekday evenings have a lecture scheduled (see your syllabus or this website).

Uber and Lyft Ride-share Services
Pittsburgh now has these ride-share services which you can order from your phone app. This newspaper review was unsure if these services could pick up from the airport but they can drop off at the airport with no problem for about $34 (Lyft) or $50 (Uber). They would be able to transport from the Amtrak, Greyhound, or MegaBus stations downtown for about $21 to $28 one-way.

Yellow Cab Co. of Pittsburgh           (412) 321-8100
Approximately $75 each way to or from airport.

Port Authority of Allegheny County Bus System
The express bus (28X) from the Pittsburgh International airport to downtown takes about 40 minutes and costs $3.75 one way plus $1.00 transfer. Once downtown you can transfer to the no. 12 bus (McKnight Road to Showcase Cinema) for fare of $1.25 and get off at the bottom of the La Roche College driveway on Babcock Blvd. about 40 minutes later. Allow 2 hours for total trip. See link for times and route directions.

Downtown Pittsburgh is serviced by an Amtrak train station at 1100 Liberty Avenue. This is about 10 miles from La Roche College or about a 20 minute taxi ride.

Pittsburgh’s Megabus stop is at 10th and Liberty Streets at the Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. This is about 10 miles from La Roche College. Fares on the Megabus are routinely as low-cost as $1 one way, depending on when you book the ticket. See their website for more information.
