Looking Forward to 2016!

Happy Holidays from your GRIP co-directors, Debbie Deal and Elissa Scalise Powell! In these final days of 2015 you may find your thoughts turning to your 2016 educational plans. We hope that you are including a week or two in Pittsburgh this summer, taking a course either in June or July (or both!). What a great holiday gift to ask for or to give–the gift of family knowledge!

If you still are trying to decide about the benefits of attending an institute, learn more by listening to the Forget Me Not Hour on Blog Talk Radio in which Jane Wilcox interviews three genealogy institute directors. (Should automatically play.)

Be sure to mark your calendar for registration for the June courses on February 10 and for the July courses on March 2, both at noon eastern time. There is always such a nice buzz on social media when people ask who else got into the popular courses. Please “Like” our Facebook page (now over 2,000 strong!) and sign up for email notifications in order to be on top of the news!

For those who have never registered for GRIP, you can set up an account now so that you don’t have to do it during registration for a course. If you have ever registered in the previous four years and need to change your contact info, please do so with the Edit Profile link.

May the New Year bring you more knowledge on your German, Italian, Pennsylvania, or New England ancestors, more understanding about DNA evidence, documentation, or proof arguments, and more ways to find women and children and preserve the memories and artifacts our ancestors left behind! (All are courses being offered at GRIP 2016.)

Any questions, email us at info@GRIPitt.org.

I’ve attended classes the last two years. Can’t wait to get back to learn more in this adult summer camp for genealogists. Now how do I decide which of the many quality courses I should take?

That is a tough decision! What is nice is that you can’t go wrong with any one of the courses — all taught by experts in their specialty! We look forward to having you back on campus. There are special plans to help celebrate our fifth year at La Roche College.
