News from and about GRIP – Thursday

Thursday is Shirt Day! Wear your GRIP polo shirt if you have one because class pictures will be taken in SC103. Please come by the following time so that a quick picture can be taken by Debbie Deal.

  • Determining Kinship with the GPS: 8:30 a.m.
  • Intermediate Genealogy: 11:15 a.m.
  • Practical Genetic Genealogy, section 2: 11:45 a.m.
  • African-American Families: 12:45 p.m.
  • Becoming an Online Expert: 2:00 p.m.
  • Practical Genetic Genealogy, section 1: 2:30 p.m.

Classroom door prizes have been given to the instructors. Thank you Debbie Hooper (books and QuickSheets) and Sandy Rumble (RumbleSoft software GenDetective) for contributing to the prizes beyond what was printed in the syllabus. It was wonderful of you to think of your fellow GRIP students.

Paula Stuart-Warren also recycled many periodicals that were placed on the freebie table. Something to think of for next year when cleaning house!

Evaluations probably have been passed out by your instructor. Please give us your opinions and suggestions for improvements. These help us to understand your experience. The verbal comments we are hearing are wonderful and we are glad so many of you are enjoying your classes and the camaraderie of friends – both old and new.

When ready to check out of the dorm on Friday, please give your dorm key and swipe card to the students in front of the door where you picked them up. If they are not there at the time you need to leave, please place the keys in the bag attached to the door of room 213 or give to Elissa or Debbie.
