One week and counting!

One week from today on February 7, at noon (Eastern time), GRIP will begin accepting registrations for the four courses to be held July 23 to 27. Registration information has been placed on the Registration tab. It describes what information you will need to provide during the registration process including the size chart for the optional GRIP polo shirt.

Your instructors are preparing their course materials and the descriptions for each one sound very enticing. (See Courses tab on website black bar.) It will be difficult to choose which course to take, but here are some hints:

  • Please be advised that you may have already taken Tom Jones’ Advanced Research Methods course because it is the same one he offers at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. As an annual sell-out there, we anticipate that it will be quite popular in Pittsburgh.
  • Paula Stuart-Warren and Joshua Taylor will be teaching in each other’s courses so you will get the benefit of both of their expertise. Paula is encouraging you to bring your own genealogy for discussion in the Intermediate course.
  • Josh’s online repository course requires that you have a laptop for class.

Debbie and I look forward to working with the faculty and students to make this a wonderful experience.
